One of the commissions I enjoyed doing this year✨ This was heavily inspired by Formula One racing 🏎🏎

This is what happens when you just eyeball everything. I started coloring the characters first and it just came out muddy. I took my eyes off this piece so I could attack it with fresh eyes.

I continued the piece but changed my approach. This time I did the background first and wrote the words that I wanted to "drive" home..lol get it?? The words were: victory, racing and sunny day

I realized that the piece was still a bit boring so three seasons of Formula One, two movies (Rush and Ford V Ferrari) involving F1 and a couple of references later, I had this. Added some smokes, champagne shower and shadows to the ground
